Evelyn Lee, FAIA | NOMA

Candidate for 2024 First VP | 2025 President

Thomas Braham, FAIA

Many candidates run on platforms of change, but few have led as long or active a career advocating for and making change as Evelyn Lee. Ever since I first met her in 2007, when she was serving as the associate representative to the National AIA Board of Directors, and I was serving as a region director from Illinois, Evelyn has been a voice for change in the profession. And her advocacy isn’t just talk, she leads by example and embodies the change agent she calls all of us to be. She founded Practice of Architecture to help individuals and firms find new and better ways of working. As co-host of the podcast, Practice Disrupted, she shares real life examples of change happening in the profession from a myriad of guests.

Most recently, she’s brought design thinking to a non-traditional inaugural role at Slack. A technology company transforming the way we communicate. Beyond demonstrating that architects have much to offer other professions, she recognizes that other professions have much to teach our profession, even those of us who are more traditional practitioners.

This is a moment in time when the architecture profession needs transformational change in how we practice to reveal the full value architects have to offer. This is a moment in time when we need Evelyn’s distinct experience and leadership.
